BOMB CITY BATTLE
The “WOD” or “Workout of the Day” is the workout programmed for all regular classes on any given day. Our workouts are designed to improve each participants “GPP” or “general physical preparedness.” That means members will see significant improvements in mobility, speed, strength, and coordination over time by following our programming. The workouts are designed with an “Rx” or “prescribed” method of execution, but are infinitely scalable. This allows for athletes of all backgrounds and abilities to complete the workout at their own level.
Lunch Box is our only 30 minute CrossFit class. This class is design to help members get a workout in on their lunch break. This class will include a short warm up, short workout, and short recovery stretch. The workout in this class will include the same movements as the regular class, just a shorter version.
The “Compete” class is held every Saturday at 11:30am, and is available to members with an “Unlimited” membership. The programming for “Compete” will often contain more advanced movements and a greater workload than the regularly scheduled “WOD” or “Workout of the Day.” Non-unlimited members may drop-in to the Compete class for $10.
Strength & Skills
The “Strength & Skills” session is available free of charge for those members with “Unlimited” memberships. This is a one-hour session on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-7:30pm during which members may put in extra time working on lifting and gymnastic technique. Non-unlimited members may drop-in to the Strength & Skills session for $10.
CrossFit Kids is composed of laying foundational movement patterns, providing children with a portion of their prescribed amount of exercise for the week, improving muscular fitness, engineering endless opportunities for success, all while keeping the class and it's information fun and engaging.
CrossFit Kids intent is to have children learn the points of performance of foundational movements that have universal application; developing motor recruitment pathways, ensuring safe, and efficient movement now, as well as into the future.
CrossFit Kids are separated into three age groups, Pre-K, Kids, and Teens. Classes are constantly varied while there is consistent structure to the class, but the exact skill work, workout, and game (for the younger ages) is what changes. Classes are built on a foundation of age appropriate segments that allows goals to be accomplished within them.
The word yoga means to “yoke” or “unite” the mind and body into alignment with one another. This is fulfilled using breath, poses, and a still mind. At 806 Yoga, we want to help you actively recover from your rigorous CrossFit training. By adding yoga to your fitness regime, you can increase flexibility & balance that will help improve your Olympic lifts, gymnastics and overall sense of wellbeing. The only requirements are
• an open mind
• willingness to have fun
• yoga mat *we have several extra clean mats for those in need
• $5 and a smile!
We have a 2 week, 6 class program called "Foundations" and we require everyone that's new to CrossFit to go through this. We will teach you, in depth, several new movements each class, and you will do a workout at the end of each class incorporating the movements that you just learned. This is done in a small group setting, no more than 6 or 7 people. Foundations is on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:30 - 7:30 PM. The cost of Foundations is $60.
